A Missouri man was so shocked by his lottery win that he described it as an “out-of-body experience,” he said.

The Ballwin man spotted a multiplier symbol on the back of his $100,000 Diamond Dazzler ticket and then “about fell on the floor” when he saw the number that was to be multiplied, according to a May 10 news release from Missouri Lottery.

“No, this can’t be,” he said to himself.

He had scratched off a $20,000 prize on the $5 ticket, but it became a $100,000 prize with the multiplier, officials said.

“I couldn’t believe it. I immediately called my wife and told her, ‘I think we won $100,000!’” he told officials. “I was dumbfounded.”

Ballwin is about a 20-mile drive west of St. Louis.
