Man pays woman for ‘time alone’ with her 12-year-old daughter, Wisconsin cops say
A 12-year-old girl escaped a man who paid for time alone with her and then tried to assault her, Wisconsin authorities said.
An Oakfield resident called police around midnight on May 19 to report that a girl showed up at his door looking for help, according to a May 20 Facebook post from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the 12-year-old escaped from a vehicle after a man “bound and blindfolded her” and tried to sexually assault her.
“Bravely, she was able to fight back, break free from the suspect and vehicle, and ran to the house for help,” the sheriff’s office said.
The suspect paid the girl’s mother in exchange for “time alone” with the 12-year-old, authorities said.
SWAT teams found and arrested the man at a residence in Fond du Lac, the sheriff’s office said.
The girl’s mother was also arrested in connection to the incident, authorities said.
Authorities said the ongoing investigation involves “numerous serious potential crimes including sexual assault of a child, false imprisonment, child human trafficking, failure to protect a child, and others.”
The girl and her siblings were placed in protective custody, the sheriff’s office said.
Oakfield and Fond du Lac are about a 70-mile drive northwest from Milwaukee.
