The roof of this house for sale in New Mexico screams American pride. Take a look
With the Summer Olympics in Paris well underway, a home on the market in the Land of Enchantment is showing its American pride in a very literal fashion — by way of the roof.
That’s right. The entire roof — dormer windows and all — are painted like the American flag. And while the theme continues slightly throughout the interior, it’s nothing compared to the patriotic attitude racing circles around the exterior. Just glance at this mailbox.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence is listed for $489,000 in Albuquerque.
“Escape to the top of the world with this breathtaking property boasting panoramic mountain views of the entire city! Part of west Bluffs,” the listing on Zillow.com says.
“Imagine sipping your morning coffee while taking in the stunning vistas, or enjoying a relaxing evening cocktail as the sun sets over the mountains. This luxurious abode features a lap pool perfect for a refreshing dip after a long day, and a spacious basement with a pool table that’s sure to be a hit with family and friends.”
Features in the 3,672-square-foot property include:
Plenty of space
Two-car garage
Wet bar
Ceiling fans
The home — or rather its roof — nabbed the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page that highlights unique homes for sale all over the globe. Folks respected the timing of the house popping on the market during the Olympics.
“JUST in time for #paris2024, here’s the most American house we could find,” the Facebook post said.
“I love a good theme as much as the next guy, but this homeowner really raised the roof!” one person joked.
“I’ll bet it’s used by airplane pilots as a navigational reference point,” another said.
“I’d take it. I’d even leave the paint. That price for a home over 3000 square feet with pool in New Mexico? I’m in!” someone commented.
“A reminder that Albuquerque (and the rest of New Mexico) is indeed in the United States,” one person pointed out.
“I admire their commitment,” another said.
