Blind dog awaits adoption at Texas shelter — but his guide dog must come along
A special needs pup is looking for a home in Texas — but he comes with a catch.
Chase, a catahoula mix who is about 8 years old and blind, is up for adoption in Waco. But the blindness doesn’t appear to get in the way of his playful nature.
Why? Because he has his brother always nearby to help him out.
“Meet Chase and Rusty!” the Humane Society of Central Texas in Waco said in an Aug. 8 Facebook post.
“These brothers are a bonded pair and must be adopted together,” the group said in the post. “Obviously, Chase is blind and relies on Rusty to be his guide. They have met other dogs and been great! Chase does get a little scared when a new dog approaches and will back up & bark but Rusty quickly comes to his side to comfort him.”
Rusty is a pointer-mix and a sweetheart, the shelter said.
“Awww I hope they get the most loving caring family,” one person said in the comment section of the post.
“What an adorable pair of pups!” another said.
