Powerball player just misses $184 million jackpot. Where in US was lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Virginia won $1 million but just missed the $184 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers, but not the Powerball, in the drawing Monday, Nov. 25, the national Powerball site said.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $196 million, with a cash value of $90.7 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, Nov. 27, the national Powerball site said.
The winning Virginia ticket was sold at a Harris Teeter grocer store in Ashburn, which is about a 30-mile drive northwest from Arlington, the Virginia Lottery said.
The winning numbers were 5, 35, 45, 60 and 63, with a Powerball of 12, the lottery said. The Power Play was 2x.
More than 325,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot has gone unclaimed since Oct. 23, when a Georgia player won the $478 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
