Amber Heard makes big announcement more than two years after moving to Spain
Amber Heard couldn’t be more “delighted.”
The 38-year-old “Aquaman” actress is pregnant with her second child, according to a spokesperson who confirmed the announcement with People on Dec. 5.
“It is still quite early in the pregnancy, so you will appreciate that we do not want to go into much detail at this stage,” the source told the outlet.
“Suffice to say that Amber is delighted both for herself and Oonagh Paige,” they concluded.
The news comes more than three-and-a-half years after the “Zombieland” actress gave birth to her first child, Oonagh, on April 8, 2021.
Heard kept the announcement private before sharing a photo of herself holding Oonagh as she lay on her chest on July 1, 2021.
“I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child,” she wrote in the caption before clarifying that she wanted to do it on her “own terms.”
“I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib,” she continued.
Heard went on to say that she would love to keep her personal life private but understands that the nature of her job “compels [her] to take control of this.”
“She’s the beginning of the rest of my life,” Heard concluded in the caption.
Two weeks after her baby announcement, Heard shared a photo of her and her daughter working on her laptop.
“I’m just the mom and the dad. She’s the boss,” Heard wrote in the caption.
She shared another photo several months later, in which she labeled herself a “multitasking mama” while holding her daughter in one hand and a dumbbell in the other.
Since then, Heard has undergone a series of new chapters in her life, highlighted by her move to Madrid, Spain, in 2022 following a highly publicized defamation trial.
That trial was brought forth by her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp, and lasted almost two months between April and June 2022.
In an interview with Savannah Guthrie on NBC shortly after the trial ended, Heard was asked what her future looks like now.
“I get to be a mom, like, full time, you know? Where I’m not having to juggle calls with lawyers,” she told Guthrie.
She moved to Spain several months later with her daughter.
In October 2023, director Conor Allyn, who worked with Heard on the 19th century-set thriller “In the Fire,” provided an update on how her new life was going.
“She’s living her best life in Spain with her daughter and just finding happiness in that way,” he said in an interview with People.
Allyn went on to describe Heard as a “dedicated mom” who is “really good about making the time” for Oonagh.
