Oblivious suspect uses stolen credit card for 33 Domino’s Pizza orders, Florida cops say
A woman living large with a stolen credit card got caught in a humiliating way, when she used it dozens of times to have Domino’s Pizza ordered, according to Florida investigators.
In doing so, she had to provide her Silver Springs home address ... again and again and again.
The spending spree amounted to just under $1,625, and included orders that tallied to nearly $80, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported in an affidavit.
“Between June 4th, 2024 and September 28th, 2024, a person who goes by the name of Gene Phillips, Michelle Michelle, Shell Shell, Shelly Rey (and) Shelly Shell ... ordered food items from Domino’s 33 different times with a stolen credit card,” the sheriff’s office said.
The various names all led to the same address in Silver Springs, officials said. Silver Springs is about a 90-mile drive northwest from Orlando.
“Each time the defendant ordered for delivery, she would then take the pizza from the delivery driver herself,” officials said.
The fraudulent charges were discovered by a businessman, who reported the credit card had been originally issued to his father, who was deceased, the sheriff’s office said.
A deputy visited the 33-year-old suspect’s home Jan. 9, and she refused to talk, officials said.
However, she was linked to the orders by the delivery guy, who identified her as the person who accepted the pizzas at the door of the home, detectives said.
The woman was arrested and charged with grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, officials said.
