A Virginia woman learned about her good lottery fortune in the middle of the night, after receiving a call from her mother, lottery officials said.

“It’s three o’clock in the morning!” Victoria Richards said as she answered the phone, per a March 5 news release from Virginia Lottery. “Why are you screaming?”

Then, her mom told her the exciting news.

“We won! We won!” she yelled into the phone, according to the release.

Richards learned she had won a jackpot worth $383,065 in the Jan. 25 Cash 5 with EZ Match drawing using the numbers her mother usually uses when she plays lottery games, the lottery said.

“Maybe you’ll be lucky,” Richards’ mom had said when she shared her numbers, according to lottery officials.

Richards bought her ticket at a 7-Eleven in Alexandra, and the winning numbers were 8, 10, 15, 31 and 34, lottery officials said.

The odds of winning the jackpot in the Cash 5 with EZ Match game are 1 in 1,221,759, according to the lottery.

The current jackpot is $225,000, and the next drawing is March 6, the lottery said.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
