Three Powerball players just miss $353 million jackpot — but still win big in Texas
Three lucky Powerball players in Texas won thousands after narrowly missing the $353 million jackpot, lottery officials said.
The winning tickets matched four out of five numbers and the Powerball, in the drawing Wednesday, March 12, according to the Texas Lottery.
One ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a Millennium Food Mart in Denton. The second ticket was sold at a Star Stop 50 in Austin.
The third player won $100,000 because they paid an extra $1 for the Power Play option, so the win doubled. They bought this ticket from a Corner Market in Borger.
The winning numbers were 11, 13, 28, 51 and 58 with a Powerball of 1, the lottery said. The Power Play was 2x.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $378 million, with a cash value of $177.5 million, for the next drawing Saturday, March 15.
Powerball players in West Virginia and Colorado won $1 million prizes.
More than 450,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Jan. 18, when an Oregon player hit the $329 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
