Poker player wins life-changing prize with rarest hand in the game at Minnesota casino
A poker player won a big jackpot prize at a Minnesota casino with a rare hand.
The player sat at a Texas Hold’em table at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, the casino said in a March 13 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The gambler then ended up with a royal flush — and a $100,000 jackpot, the casino said.
“Huge congratulations to a very lucky guest who hit a bonus jackpot of $100,000 by flopping a royal flush on Ultimate Texas Hold’em!” the casino said in the post.
A royal flush is the rarest hand in the game, according to Upswing Poker.
To get a royal flush, a player has to get an ace, king, queen, jack and 10 in the same suit.
“The royal flush tops the poker hand rankings chart, as it beats all other hands in a showdown. With only four total ways to make a royal flush, this hand represents the rarest possible made hand in poker,” the poker site said.
A player can get a royal flush in spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds.
Welch is about a 50-mile drive southeast from Minneapolis.
