A hiker was injured by falling about 30 feet into a drainage area in Zion National Park, rescuers said.

At about 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, Hurricane Valley Fire & Rescue was called to help park rangers rescue the fallen hiker from the Pine Creek drainage area, the agency said in an April 14 post on Facebook.

They were in stable condition but had suffered multiple injuries, the agency said. The agency did not elaborate on the hiker’s injuries.

Rescue crews and park rangers teamed up to bring the hiker to an ambulance that then took them to a hospital, officials said.

Photos show rescuers helping the hiker.

Zion National Park is about a 270-mile drive southwest from Salt Lake City.
