Woman tries to hire hitman to make ex-husband ‘disappear,’ Tennessee cops say
A Tennessee woman is accused of trying to have her ex-husband killed by an undercover cop she thought was a hitman, police said.
Angelia Soloman met with the officer in a parking lot in Franklin at about 2 p.m. April 11 and shared information about where her ex-husband — a former Nashville news anchor — could be found, according to a Franklin Police Department affidavit and WKRN.
She gave the officer her vehicle registration as an upfront payment and promised future payment for him to make her ex-husband “disappear and to be put underground,” the affidavit said.
According to police, Soloman said the death of her ex-husband would give her daughter access to a trust fund.
Police told WSMV a concerned citizen gave them a tip that started the investigation into the failed plot.
She was arrested and charged April 13 with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond, according to the affidavit.
Franklin is about a 20-mile drive southwest from Nashville.
