Three people accused of being involved in the killing of two men at a hotel have been arrested, Utah officials said.

On April 15, officers arrived at a Comfort Inn after getting reports of a shooting at around 12:30 a.m., according to a news release by Salt Lake City police.

There, they found two men with critical injuries who eventually died, officials said.

“Woke up and found crime tape curled around my door,” Rex Mills, a guest at the hotel, told KSL. “It kind of made me nervous, to see if it was even finished yet, to be honest with you.”

Detectives later arrested Tiffani Papach, 40, Kendra Mitchell, 38, and 56-year-old Kevin Thrower, officials said.

Mitchell had been contacted by the person renting the hotel room and was told to meet them in person, officials said.

Mitchell called Papach to send two men as “security” while dealing with a fight about money, officials said.

The men arrived, one with a gun, and assaulted the renter before demanding the money and taking their car keys, officials said.

During the confrontation, the two men were shot, and both died on scene, officers said. Police are not releasing the identity of the men until their next of kin are notified.

Papach was charged with obstruction of justice, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, officials said. Mitchell was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. Thrower was charged with obstruction of justice.

The suspected shooter has not been arrested, officials said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000, officials said.
