A 21-year-old man assaulted a nurse, then tried to steal a helicopter in Arizona, deputies said.

The man was first arrested Sunday, June 8, and taken to a hospital in Prescott, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said in a June 12 news release.

He assaulted the nurse, escaped the hospital, tried to steal a Native Air helicopter, then went down a road and stole a vehicle from a dealership, the sheriff’s office said.

He crashed the vehicle in a ditch in Paulden, which is about a 25-mile drive north from Prescott, deputies said.

Deputies said they found him the next day in Ash Fork, about a 25-mile drive north from Paulden, after a caller reported seeing a “young man appearing disoriented” in an SUV.

The man had been driving an SUV he stole from a fire station parking lot, deputies said.

He was arrested on “theft-related charges.”

Prescott is about a 100-mile drive north from Phoenix.
