Two girls were on an electric scooter when they were struck by a car, Pennsylvania police said. Now, they’re recovering from life-threatening injuries.
The “best friends” were rushed to a hospital on June 14 after they collided with a car, according to Aston Township police and WTXF.
Bella Jones and Abigail Gillon remained in critical condition after 24 hours, police and family members said.
“One of them can’t live without the other. We need both of them, they are like hand-in-hand best friends,” Sean Jones, Bella’s older brother, told WTXF.
The pair swim together for a club in Ridley Township, the club said in a Facebook post.
“She has a long road of recovery ahead of her, both parents will be out of work caring for Bella,” her aunt said in a GoFundMe.
Police said they continue to investigate the crash, and that the driver of the vehicle cooperated with police. No criminal charges or citations have been filed, police said.
Aston Township is about a 25-mile drive southwest from Philadelphia.
