Stranger tries kidnapping 8-year-old girl from store twice, Colorado cops say
A Colorado man was arrested after he was accused of trying to kidnap an 8-year-old girl twice from a store.
Bradley Mikel Wilson, 34, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Attorney contact information for Wilson was not available.
Around 11:30 a.m. June 21, deputies were called to a Safeway store in Littleton for reports of an attempted kidnapping.
An 8-year-old girl was in the store shopping with her grandmother when a stranger, later identified as Wilson, went up to the girl and put his hands on her shoulder, according to deputies.
He then said something along the lines of, “may I borrow your child?” deputies said.
Wilson then began to walk the girl out of the store, according to authorities.
The girl’s grandmother yelled at him and the girl broke free and ran back to her grandmother, deputies said. Wilson left the store but quickly returned, according to the sheriff’s office.
Wilson then tried to take the girl a second time, but store employees yelled at him and he took off in his vehicle, deputies said.
Deputies tracked him down and arrested him.
Littleton is about a 10-mile drive south from Denver.
