A woman who’d been reported missing days earlier was found dead in a car crash down an embankment in Oregon, deputies said.

A 2006 Chevy Malibu driven by Mary Ann Snoddy was “in dense vegetation” about 30 feet down the embankment, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said in a July 8 post on Facebook.

Snoddy, 62, from Junction City, had been reported missing days earlier, and police “were still actively investigating” when the fatal crash site was discovered July 7, deputies said.

They believe the wreck on a highway south of Cheshire “likely occurred several days before” it was found.

Cheshire is about a 10-mile drive southwest from Junction City in western Oregon.
