A hiker who was ill and lost on a New Hampshire mountain was able to make “one last call” for help to a relative before the battery on her phone gave out, officials said.

The 33-year-old from Vermont “became disoriented and lost her way” while trying to get to an overlook on Fall Mountain, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said in a July 15 news release.

She was faint and nauseous, according to officials, apparently from the heat.

Rescuers began searching for her after getting a call at 5 p.m. July 15 about her situation, officials said.

“After a two-hour search, a conservation officer located (her) while checking trails using his ATV,” according to officials, who said officers helped her down the North Walpole mountain. She was taken to a hospital via ambulance.

North Walpole is about a 60-mile drive southwest from Concord.
