Woman found dead in home with 5 kids, OR cops say. Suspect found in another state

A woman was found stabbed to death in a home with five kids inside, Oregon officials said.

On July 19, Portland officers responded to a home and learned a woman inside had been fatally stabbed, according to a news release by the police department.

After realizing five children were inside and unaware if the suspect was still at the scene, officers put a “hasty rescue plan” in place, officials said.

After authorities cleared the home, they charged the garage door to gain entry into the home and learned no one else was hurt, officials said.

The woman will be identified after her family is notified, officials said.

The suspect, who officials haven’t identified, was located in Vancouver, Washington, and arrested a little more than three hours after the report, officials said. Vancouver is about 10-mile drive north from Portland.
