Luke Bryan hit in face when state fair concertgoer throws object, ND videos show
Country musician Luke Bryan was hit in the face by a flying object during his performance at the North Dakota State Fair, videos show.
Bryan was singing the chorus of “Country Girl” on July 26 when an object was thrown at him, hitting him in the face, according to a video shared on Facebook by Katie Ziegler.
The video shows Bryan stare down down someone in the crowd before momentarily continuing to sing. He then stopped and smiled as he wiped something off his face.
Bryan continued the rest of his song uninterrupted. It was the last song of his performance.
“He paused. He processed. He smiled. And he finished strong — because class beats trash every time,” Ziegler said on Facebook.
The incident was captured in multiple other angles, shown in videos posted on social media.
“Poor @LukeBryan got hit in the face during his encore. Carried on like a champ though,” TikTok user @rissway said in a caption of her video.
Bryan has not commented publicly on the incident. It’s unclear what object was thrown at him.
Ward County Sheriff’s Cap. Jason Kraft told KMOT they have not identified the individual who threw the item. Bryan did not file a formal complaint.
“Luke Bryan didn’t disappoint—but some of the fans sure did,” one concertgoer, Jessica Parizek, said on Facebook. “So dissappointing to see someone throw a ball at him on stage—especially when that’s now what’s making headlines all over social media this morning. Do better, Minot.”
Bryan’s concert marked the end of the state fair, which began July 18 in Minot.
It was one of Bryan’s first concerts since being diagnosed with COVID-19, Today reported. He was forced to cancel several shows due to his illness.
