A North Carolina woman stopped at a slot machine on her way out of a Las Vegas casino, and she won a big jackpot.

Now, she’s $599,015 richer.

The lucky gambler decided to play one last game at the Palms Casino Resort before heading to the airport, the casino said in a July 29 news release.

So she stopped at a Whitney Houston slot machine to try her luck.

She bet $5, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared.

The casino said she won a “life-changing” jackpot during her first visit in Las Vegas.

“She walked away with a six-figure win and an unforgettable Vegas memory,” the casino said in the release.

Palms Casino Resort is about a mile drive west from the Las Vegas Strip.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
