A 60-year-old fishing at night at a lake was stabbed by a stranger, then drove himself to a hospital, Colorado police said.
On Aug. 25, Westminster officers responded to a lake in Broomfield and found blood on the shoreline, according to a police post on X.
The victim told officers that while he was night fishing, a stranger wearing a rain jacket was at the lake with him and left, police said.
A short time after, the man was stabbed by a different stranger, police said.
The victim called 911, walked to a nearby parking lot and drove himself to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officers said.
The victim described the suspect as a man wearing a dark-colored rain jacket and dark pants, police said.
Anyone who was in the McKay Lake area and may have information is asked to call 303-658-4360, police said.
Westminster is about a 10-mile drive northwest from Denver.
