A woman was left dead after getting caught in a boat’s propeller, Alaska officials said.

On Sept. 17, state troopers responded to the Napakiak Slough after getting reports of a fatal boating incident, according to a news release by the Alaska Department of Public Safety.

A man was driving the boat around 2 a.m. when he hit something underwater, causing him and 33-year-old Adrianna Tinker to be thrown from the boat, troopers said.

Tinker got caught in the boat’s propeller and was eventually pronounced dead at a clinic, troopers said.

The boat operator was not injured, troopers said.

TheState Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy on Tinker’s body, troopers said.
