Former MMA fighter raped three women, held one against her will, OR officials say
A 33-year-old former mixed martial arts fighter is going to prison after being accused of raping three women, Oregon officials said.
Zachary Lee Andrews was accused of raping three unhoused women in their tents in 2021 and 2022, according to a Sept. 19 news release by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
In October 2021, Andrews, known as “Cadillac,” strangled a woman and raped her in her tent before he “became more abusive as she attempted to resist by kicking and screaming,” prosecutors said.
The woman told officers she couldn’t breathe as he choked her, and they noticed scratches and cuts along her neck, officials said.
In March 2022, he raped another woman in her tent while punching and strangling her, officials said.
Andrews confessed to the crime but told officers “she liked ‘force play,’” officials said.
In October 2022, he raped another woman in her tent and “held her against her will for 12 hours,” officials said.
During the attack, the woman was screaming “no” and “help” but Andrews told officers she had a “force fantasy” and wanted to be choked, officials said.
He was convicted on 16 charges including rape, sodomy, sexual abuse, strangulation, kidnapping, unlawful penetration and assault, officials said.
“Originally, for some reason, I had felt I wasn’t guilty of the crime, the more I thought about it, the more I realized I’m very much wrong,” Andrews said during his sentencing, according to KGW8.
He was sentenced to 50 years in prison, officials said.
