Man breaks girlfriend’s hand and eye socket during fight over vape, AZ cops say
A 32-year-old man is accused of breaking his girlfriend’s hand and eye socket during a fight that started over a vape, Arizona police said.
The injured woman contacted police at 2:13 a.m. Sept. 21, the Tempe Police Department said in a probable cause statement.
She told police she was doing homework at her boyfriend’s house, authorities said.
At one point, she took a vape from Nicholas Vincuillo’s nightstand while he was showering, and he got angry when he realized, police said.
Vincuillo grabbed his girlfriend, slammed her into a wall in the living room, and punched her before throwing her into a bathroom, police said.
He also strangled her until “her vision was closing in,” police said.
Then at another point, Vincuillo got out his handgun and put the barrel of the gun touching her forehead, police said.
He then tried to offer her medicine, water and to take her to a hospital, but she said no because he would get arrested, police said.
She left the apartment and drove to find help, police said.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she was treated for a broken hand and eye socket, police said. Medical workers documented 36 injuries to just her head, authorities said in the document.
Vincuillo was arrested later that day at about 7:50 p.m. at his home on numerous charges, including:
- Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
- Two counts of aggravated assault involving temporary disfigurement
- Aggravated assault impeding breathing
- Theft and control of property
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Administering a dangerous drug
