Puppy with ‘goofy energy’ was hit by car. Now rescued, she’ll need a new home
A puppy hit by a car was rescued — and now, she’s “ready to bring her goofy energy” to a new home.
Cinnabon, who lost one of her legs, will soon go up for adoption in North Carolina.
“She loves to play, snuggle, and make people laugh,” a Raleigh-area animal rescue wrote Oct. 14 on Facebook. “Because of her accident, she was initially very scared of car noises, but she’s made great progress and is much more confident now. She enjoys toys, treats, and walks, hopping along confidently on her three legs.”
Cinnabon arrived at the Triangle Beagle Rescue of North Carolina after experiencing a rough patch. She was transferred from a shelter with one of her hind legs missing, a photo in her online adoption profile shows.
“Cinnabon is a happy-go-lucky, three-legged foxhound mix puppy who doesn’t let anything slow her down,” rescuers wrote. “She was found as a stray after being hit by a car, and her injury was so severe that one of her legs had to be amputated. She healed beautifully and is now ready for her next adventure: finding a loving forever home.”
Cinnabon also is described as a “flippity-floppy” puppy with long legs. She has become known for being as “snuggly and silly as can be,” Leann Tenbusch, the pup’s foster parent and marketing coordinator for the rescue, told McClatchy News via email.
Tenbusch said Cinnabon may not have to wait long before she goes up for adoption. She is expected to be available after she’s scheduled to be spayed Oct. 16. In the meantime, details about the rescue’s adoption process can be found at tribeagles.org.
The rescue believes Cinnabon’s ideal home would have a playful dog. She also has been known to climb or slip through fences, so her next owner will need to keep an eye on her when she’s outside.
“She still gets nervous around heavy traffic, so a quieter suburban or rural home would suit her best,” rescuers wrote. “Cinnabon is ready to bring her goofy energy and big heart to a family that will love her as much as she’ll love them.”
