A bear cub was corralled up a palm tree after it was spotted wandering without its mom in an Arizona town, deputies said.

The cub was first seen last week in San Tan Valley, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

“Arizona Game & Fish Department were unable to track him and find probable claws for an arrest,” deputies said in the post.

Then the cub was discovered Oct. 25 in Florence, which is about a 25-mile drive southeast from San Tan Valley.

Deputies were able to “corral” the cub named Ted up a palm tree, then bring him down with the help from local fire departments.

Ted will be released into the wild in northern Arizona, deputies said in the Oct. 26 post.

You won’t see this everyday!” Rural Metro Fire San Tan Valley said in a Facebook post.

Black bears are found in Arizona in forested, woodland and desert riparian areas, according to Arizona Game & Fish Department.
