A 44-year-old man was arrested after being accused of disguising himself as a female, sneaking into women’s locker rooms and recording the showers, Maryland officials said.

On Oct. 10, Montgomery County officers responded to the Onelife Fitness in Germantown after a woman reported someone entering the women’s locker room and recording her in the shower, according to an Oct. 30 news release by the police department.

Further investigation determined the man, identified as Tshikundi Taty of Takoma Park, would put on a long wig and sneak into the women’s locker rooms, officers said.

When he’d leave the locker room, he’d take off the wig as a means to conceal his identity, then flee the area, officials said.

On Oct. 29, officers followed Taty to a Planet Fitness in White Oak and found him in the women’s locker room wearing the wig, officials said.

Taty was arrested and charged with two counts of video surveillance “with prurient intent” and two visual surveillance counts, which are also known as “peeping tom” charges, according to court records obtained by The Washington Post.

Officers believe there may be more victims and ask anyone with information to call 240-773-6200.

Germantown is about a 50-mile drive southwest from Baltimore.
