Canada's Ivey PMI falls to three-month low in June

TORONTO - Canadian economic activity expanded at a slower pace in June as measures of employment and prices fell, Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data showed on Tuesday.

The seasonally adjusted index declined to 56.2 from ⁠58.2 in May, marking its lowest level since March.

• The Ivey PMI measures the month to month variation in economic activity as indicated by a panel of purchasing managers from across Canada. A reading above 50 indicates an increase in activity.

• The gauge ​of ​employment dipped ⁠to an adjusted 53.6 from 54.3 in May.

• The adjusted prices ​index ⁠was at 73.7, down from 78.0.

• The unadjusted PMI ⁠edged ​lower to 59.7 from 61.3 in May.
