The 13 best restaurants in California, according to Yelp

Yelp is out with its list of the Top 100 places to eat in the U.S. for 2016 -- restaurants, coffee shops, barbecue joints and other dining establishments deemed so good by Yelp users that they deserve a “must try in this lifetime” designation.

Forty-six California spots made the top 100 list.

Let the arguments begin.

Is Porto’s Bakery & Cafe in Burbank the best California has to offer? Is Cheese Board Pizza in Berkeley way, way better than Thomas Keller’s French Laundry? Does Sacramento deserve just one spot on the list (for Cafe Rolle), and don’t Modesto or Fresno or San Luis Obispo deserve any?

And what about Benu, Saison and Manresa, which won Michelin stars but bupkus from Yelp?
