Would Caitlyn Jenner become a man again?

Caitlyn Jenner has been named woman of the year and has been considered a pioneer for transgender rights.

But Ian Halperin, author of the book “Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family,” told The Wrap that multiple sources said Jenner has been miserable for months and has considered transitioning back to a man.

“One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex change regret,’ hinting she might go back to being Bruce Jenner,” Halperin said.

Halperin added that Jenner was “thrilled” to be a champion for transgender issues, but she is still attracted to women and “wants to meet the right one.” Sexual orientation and gender identity are not necessarily linked.

“It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn, it’s been very hard,” the friend said, according to Halperin. “She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against but I think there’s a chance she’ll de-transition in the next couple years. I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses.”

The former Olympian announced her transition to female on the cover of Vanity Fair in July 2015. She took hormones and underwent several surgeries, including one to augment her breasts.

Jenner said in a Vanity Fair interview during her transition that she didn’t know if she would remain exclusively attracted to women.

“If you have a list of 10 reasons to transition, sex would be number 10,” she said.

Jenner has remained silent publicly on whether she planned to have female genitalia constructed for herself. She legally changed her name from William Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Marie Jenner in September 2015.
