Two Colorado tourists were attacked by a crocodile while vacationing in Mexico, local news outlets reported.

The incident occurred at a resort in Puerto Vallarta, The Associated Press reported.

One of the tourists, a 24-year-old man, went swimming at night and was attacked by the crocodile, the civil defense office in Jalisco said on Twitter. The other man entered the water to help him and was attacked next.

One of the men was bitten on his legs, arm, abdomen and chest. The other man was injured on his hand, officials said.

Both of the men survived and were transported to a local hospital for treatment, Vice News reported. The civil defense also said both men received treatment at the scene of the incident, according to the AP.
