California Governor Gavin Newsom held his daily coronavirus press conference about the state’s response to COVID-19 at noon Wednesday.

Nearly six weeks into the state’s stay-at-home order, administration officials have reported that the state’s hospitalization rates are holding steady. In the meantime, millions of Californians have filed for unemployment, overwhelming the state’s Employment Development Department.
