Gov. Gavin Newsom gave an update on California’s response to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Newsom and state lawmakers are currently negotiating a state budget with a projected $54 billion deficit. After Newsom holds his Tuesday press conference, lawmakers in the Assembly are scheduled to convene as a Committee of the Whole to discuss the governor’s budget proposal.
