Watch: Gov. Gavin Newsom gives updates on coronavirus response

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s regular news conferences continued at noon on Monday with an update on coronavirus numbers after a busy July 4 weekend. Click the video below to watch a recording of the livestream.

Newsom’s latest press briefing comes after repeated calls last week for limited family gatherings and face masks leading up to the July 4 weekend. California Department of Public Health data suggests that, as of last Saturday, more than 260,000 Californians have tested positive for COVID-19.

Indoor dining for 19 California counties will continue to be suspended for at least three weeks, Newsom said last week.
