The Democratic governor’s remarks come as the state grapples with a series of technology issues, including a backlog of unemployment claims and an undercount of coronavirus cases.

They also come after the departure of Dr. Sonia Angell from the California Department of Public Health. Newsom in his remarks on Monday declined to discuss the specifics behind her exit.
