New poll shows Vice President Kamala Harris unpopular with California voters

Vice President Kamala Harris is underwater with California voters, according to the latest survey results released by the Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.

The online poll was conducted between March 29 and April 5, and surveyed 8,676 registered California voters in both English and Spanish.

The survey found that Harris, who previously served as a U.S. senator and California attorney general, has just a 35% approval rate from voters, while 45% disapprove of the job that she is doing and another 20% have no opinion.

Harris’ boss, President Joe Biden, fared somewhat better with voters, with 50% registering their approval of the president’s job and 46% registering their disapproval. Two months ago, Biden had a 47% approval rate and a 48% disapproval.

Since becoming vice president, Harris has been given a lengthy portfolio of responsibilities, including recently traveling to Europe and meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She also has been tasked with handling the immigration crisis on the southern border.
