Kamala Harris married in Santa Barbara ceremony

California Attorney General Kamala Harris and attorney Douglas Emhoff were married Friday at the courthouse in Santa Barbara, her office said.

The attorney general’s sister, Maya Harris, officiated.

The wedding come five months after Harris and Emhoff, partner in charge of the law firm Venable LLP's Los Angeles office, were engaged.

Both Harris and Emhoff are 49.

The wedding was accompanied by little publicity, and Harris’ office provided few details other than a photograph of the newlyweds.

Harris, a former San Francisco district attorney, is widely considered a potential future candidate for governor or U.S. Senate.

It is Harris’ first marriage. Emhoff was previously divorced.
