Republican VP candidate JD Vance is coming to Reno. Will he draw Trump-sized crowds?
Less than two weeks after Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke to thousands of enthusiastic fans in Reno, Nevada, his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will also make an appearance in The Biggest Little City in the World.
Vance will deliver remarks at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino.
“There is no doubt that Nevadans cannot afford another four years of Kamala Harris’ failed policies,” wrote the Trump-Vance team in a campaign email Monday morning.
Per that email, Vance’s visit will likely focus more on economic issues, whereas Trump’s almost-90-minute rally on Oct. 11 covered a wide swath of topics, but focused predominantly on immigration and crime.
Many attendees at the Trump rally were Placer, Nevada, Sacramento and San Joaquin county Republicans who made the long drive across the state line on a Friday afternoon to stand in line for hours and hear their candidate speak.
It’s unclear whether or not Vance will inspire the same turnout — let alone the full-fledged caravan — that Trump received; recent polling suggests a majority of Americans aren’t fans of the Ohio Senator.
Vance, who has strong Silicon Valley ties, has previously visited California to fundraise for the Trump-Vance ticket, but this will be his first stop in the Northern California area.
