Soon they’ll be just one kid away from fielding a basketball team.
Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, 47, and wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom, 41, announced Monday that they are having another child.
“Jen and I are excited to announce that we are expecting a baby boy this winter!” Newsom, a 2018 candidate for governor, wrote on Facebook.
The Newsoms, who live in the Marin County town of Kentfield, have three children, two girls and a boy. Montana (reportedly named after their favorite place) turns 6 next month; Hunter (mom’s favorite name for a boy) is 4 and Brooklynn is 2. Her name is something of a family amalgamation, according to a profile of California’s Second Lady.

The family has been back and forth to Sacramento since Newsom took office in 2011 after serving as mayor of San Francisco. In January, the three children joined their parents for another swearing-in ceremony, this one at the Stanley Mosk Library and Courts Building.
Ms. Newsom, a writer and director, on Monday seconded her husband’s elation on Twitter, writing, “Very excited!”
