Interactive map: See how Sacramento County voted on Proposition 50

Proposition 50, the redistricting initiative proposed by Gov. Gavin Newsom as a response to gerrymandering efforts in Texas, was popular among Sacramento County voters — leading 61% to 39% in the 12:12 a.m. Wednesday release of county election results.

While the initiative carried almost every precinct in the city of Sacramento, it struggled in some of the county’s outlying areas, including Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Elverta and Galt.

The initiative found its strongest advantage in a precinct in Sacramento’s Curtis Park neighborhood, where it ran up a 616-vote margin. The largest concentration of detractors could be found in a Rancho Murieta precinct, where the measure was losing by 266 votes.
