South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County measures draw wide support as votes counted
Four local measures were on ballots across El Dorado County in Tuesday’s primary election, each affecting specific communities rather than the county as a whole.
If approved, the measures would fund community projects and services through parcel taxes.
Measure B: South Lake Tahoe Library
As of Wednesday, Measure B received about 71% approval, according to preliminary results. The measure would renew a special tax to fund South Lake Tahoe Library services, imposing a $25.50 annual tax on each eligible land parcel and raising about $580,000 annually.
Measure E: Fallen Leaf Lake Community Services District
Voters in the Fallen Leaf Lake Community Services District considered renewing a fire special tax first approved in July 2024. The measure would raise about $213,000 annually to fund ambulance and fire services. Developed parcels would pay $660 annually, while undeveloped parcels would pay half that amount, according to previous Sacramento Bee reporting.
Preliminary results showed about 87% of voters approved the measure Wednesday.
Measure C: Georgetown Divide Library
Voters in the Georgetown Library Zone of Benefit considered renewing an existing special tax of $25.50 per year on each eligible parcel. The tax would raise about $124,000 annually and would be adjusted for inflation by no more than 3% annually.
The measure received about 71% approval Wednesday.
Measure G: South Lake Tahoe recreation Facilities Joint Powers Authority
About 69% of voters supported Measure G as of 9 a.m. Wednesday. The measure would continue a parcel tax that funds the improvement and maintenance of bicycle trails. The tax would raise about $645,000 annually for another 30 years.
