Patterson, Parker set for rematch in California’s 5th Assembly District race
Assemblymember Joe Patterson and Neva Parker are headed for a rematch in the race for California’s 5th Assembly District seat, according to AP election results.
Patterson leads the way with 60% of the votes counted by Wednesday afternoon, compared with Parker following behind with 39%.

The 5th Assembly District spans portions of Placer and El Dorado counties and includes Roseville, Auburn, El Dorado Hills and Placerville.
Neither Patterson nor Parker faced opposition in the primary, clearing the way for their second consecutive general election matchup.
The candidates will meet again on the November ballot as they compete to represent the district in the state Assembly.
