Your guide to Yolo County’s only contested Board of Supervisors race

Yolo County News

Two seats on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors are on the ballot. In the 2nd District, which includes Winters, most of Davis and southwest Yolo County, incumbent Supervisor Lucas Frerichs is running unopposed.

In the 3rd District, which covers Woodland and part of West Sacramento, three candidates are running to replace outgoing Supervisor Mary Vixie Sandy.

The county faces a sizable budget deficit that may require layoffs. How each of the 3rd District candidates will navigate budget cuts is top of mind for voters. All three candidates promise to improve housing affordability, groundwater sustainability and preservation of farmland.
