​The Brown Administration and SEIU 1000 negotiators recently reached tentative agreement on a 3-year contract that includes a $2,500 signing bonus, raises in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and higher contributions to retiree health care starting in 2018.

The deal, struck more than five months after the previous contract expired, came amid heightened rhetoric and threats of a one-day strike.
