With the Fourth of July falling on Saturday this year, California state workers will get an extra day off, but maybe not this week or next.
State offices will remain open regular hours on Friday and Monday. Department of Motor Vehicles offices that are normally open on Saturday for appointments, including those in south Sacramento, Roseville and Carmichael, will be closed Saturday.
Full-time state workers will get holiday credit to take a day off in the future.
