These California state jobs are hiring — and they don’t require a college degree
The state of California is looking for new employees, no college degree required.
The California Department of Human Resources will host a job fair on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency at 925 Del Paso Blvd. Open positions include custodians, technicians, assistants, data operators, secretaries and inspectors across more than 30 state departments.
State jobs are known for offering competitive benefits and enrollment in the nation’s largest state public pension plan.
A full time custodian position in the Department of General Services in Sacramento County makes between $2,926 and $3,663 per month, according to CalCareers website. An office assistant at the California State Board of Equalization in Sacramento County earns between $2,880 and $3,912 per month.

California state job fair in Sacramento
Hosted by the Sacramento Works Job Center System, the four-hour job fair will include live booths where state departments will be available to answer questions and workshops on the hiring process including tailoring applications and preparing for interviews.
When you register online for the event, you’ll be asked to give your first and last name, email and create a password with career event platform Talentspace by Handshake. You’ll then be prompted to upload a cover letter and resume, but you can bypass this step to complete registration.
