Column Extra: The deal that divides two unions
This week’s State Worker column updates the ironic contract battle between SEIU Local 1000 and the union representing its staff, United Auto Workers Local 2350. UAW has rejected two tentative agreements that seek to cut SEIU’s employee costs, such as eliminating medical insurance for retirees’ dependents.
