CalPERS’ open enrollment for 2016 health care benefits ends Friday.

The fund has a dozen plans next year that will cover the 1.7 million active employees, retirees and their eligible dependents. To help navigate through all those choices, CalPERS has upgraded its website with links, videos and other tools to educate members on how to choose the best plan for their circumstances.

Currently-employed state workers, California State University employees and their dependents also have until Friday to choose vision and dental options through the California Department of Human Resources. The department has a new online calculator to assist with pricing those benefits.
