Interstate 80 closed from Gold Run to Nevada border after spinouts, jackknifed big rigs

Interstate 80 between Gold Run and the Nevada state line has reopened after a 12-hour closure that started Friday night after multiple vehicles, including big rigs, spun out due to snowy weather, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Westbound traffic was being diverted at the state line while eastbound traffic is being stopped in Truckee, according to CHP incident logs. Highway 20, which also closed from Nevada Street to the I-80 connector, remains closed Saturday morning.
Rain and snow is forecast to begin after 10 a.m. Saturday in the Sacramento region and not let up until at least Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
